The first time I visited Las Vegas was for my girlfriend’s Dirty Thirty birthday weekend. It was a last-minute trip, but we wanted to celebrate this fabulous milestone (and the plane tickets to Las Vegas were cheap). So off to Vegas we went!

Las Vegas was hot. A different kind of hot than I was accustomed to back home in Miami. And so upon our arrival, it didn’t take much discussion for us to agree on what would be our very first activity — a Vegas pool party.
As I mentioned, the crew and I were rolling in from Miami. So we knew extravagant pool parties. We knew we couldn’t just roll into Encore Beach Club or Wet Republic (two of the best day parties at the time) looking any kinda way. Nevermind the basic off the rack bikini from Target or any regular old plain Jane pool cover-up. This was Vegas. And although already hot (as hell), you’ve got to bring the heat!
What Girls Wear to Vegas Pool Parties
As you arrive at any day party in Vegas, you’re expeditiously shuffled into a long line of excited party-goers (or swiftly through the VIP if you’ve got it like that).
At this point, unless you’ve walked or taxied to the party half-naked, you’re dressed in a pool cover-up. Given Las Vegas’s reputation for being fabulous and all, most gals are dressed accordingly in very fabulous pool cover-ups.

If you’re not particularly pressed about losing your cover-up and sandals, you can find somewhere (like under a daybed) to hide them. Either way you want to be free to roam around, dance, and socialize without all your stuff.
