Feeling tight, sore, stressed, or bloated? As women who lead busy lives — it happens to the best of us. I, however, recently discovered a very special place in Miami offering a fabulous service that is sure to help you loosen up and unwind. That place, the Body Roll Studio.
The Body Roll Studio is a wellness space in the heart of Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbor. The studio opened in May of 2020 amidst the pandemic and is growing swiftly in popularity amongst many Miami locals and visitors alike.
The Body Roll Studio is equipped with Body Rolling machines that provide the healing effects of lymphatic drainage massages.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage via Body Rolling Machine
If you’ve never heard of it before, you’re probably wondering, what the heck is a lymphatic drainage massage? And like the passing onlookers who curiously peak in at the strange machines, you’re probably wondering, what the heck is a body rolling machine?
A lymphatic drainage massage is a type of massage that stimulates blood circulation and assists the body’s lymphatic system. Among its benefits include fixing bloat, boost immunity, aiding weight loss, and ridding cellulite. Oh, and it also feels freaking amazing!
The body roll machines consist of numerous wooden rollers on a rotating drum that make continuous revolutions. The experience is essentially like a mash-up of foam rolling and light aerobics — on steroids.
The machines collagen and infrared lamps in the machine improve the elasticity of your skin and help maintain a youthful appearance.
Benefits of Lymphatic Drainage Massage
You see, the lymphatic system is part of the immune system and works kind of like a sanitation system for our body by getting rid of ‘waste’ that our body naturally produces, or other things that can invade our body.
Lymphatic drainage massage uses pressure, as well as long, gentle, rhythmic strokes and soft pumping movements in the direction of the lymph nodes — in the neck, armpits, and groin. Through this technique, the removal of toxins from the body is encouraged.
I’ve been rolling at the Body Roll Studio quite a bit, and let me tell you, this place and the 45-minute body rolling session offered is really very cool.
What makes the Body Roll Studio different from an ordinary massage by a masseuse is that using the machines you are able to experience a massage several times stronger.
My First Experience at The Body Roll Studio
My lymphatic drainage massage experience at the Body Roll Studio was so good that I’m now hooked. I’m so happy my girlfriend recommended this place and I can’t wait for the next time to go back.
For starters, the aesthetics of the space is absolutely serene, cozy, and smells incredible. And the knowledgeable girls that work there will explain exactly what to do so that you get maximum benefits.
With an unlimited monthly membership (that’s really reasonably priced), you can go as many times as you’d like to any of their locations. Current locations include Miami Beach, Midtown Miami, New York City, or Connecticut (the lovely owner Piret Ava promises more locations will be opening soon).
Before heading over yourself, be sure to wear a long sleeve shirt, long pants, and socks too. Remove any crazy jewelry and tie your hair back. Once you get situated into your private massage area, get ready to roll baby!
Before and after the lymphatic drainage massage you are encouraged to drink lots of water as your muscles work at their maximum when the body is sufficiently hydrated. Water intake before and after also helps the body to eliminate residue more easily.
If you forget your bottle of water, worry not. You can grab a bottle of Fiji from one of the girls at the front. On your way out, you can also snag a bottle of Simply INULIN or Simply PROTÉINE FIBRÉE by Ingrid De La Mare – Kenny, the founder of THE METHOD®.
After your session, you will feel instantly lighter, looser, and generally really good. If you’re looking for a treatment that will have you feeling good and looking better, I definitely recommend that you check out the body Roll Studio as a cool way to get your lymph nodes stimulated. It’s a fun activity to do with a girlfriend or two too!
