Here’s a nighttime routine that’s perfect for moms, for students, and working women alike. Kick-off those high heel pumps or toss that baby drool soiled moo-moo in the hamper and luxuriate a little rest and relaxation time.
If you could use some ideas for your nightly evening routine checklist before you hop into bed and sleep like a baby, here’s a little inspiration.
1. Bathe in opulence.
Can you smell that? The potent scent of blended rose, lilac, and lavender essential oils? Now top off your luxurious bath with epsom salts and dried rose petals.
2. Slip into something sexy.
Drape your body in something comfortable, like silk. Perhaps a sexy négligée that makes you feel absolutely fabulous.
3. Sip a cup of chamomile tea.
What better way to whine down than with a soothing hot cup of chamomile tea. This will also help you to digest dinner and sleep like a baby.
4. Light a luxurious candle.
Treat your senses to something aromatic. A vanilla scent will increase your libido and make you feel comforted.
5. Skin Care Routine.
Treat your face to a mini facial every night before you go to bed. After washing my face, I love to treat my skin with Sunday Riley’s Good Genes serum and then top it off with some simple organic coconut oil.
6. Moisturize your skin.
Now that your face and neck are taken care of, dont you dare neglect to moisturize the rest of your body. Your arms, back, and legs need love too.
7. Hydrate your body.
Drink a glass of water to hydrate your body before bed. Try to give yourself enough time to relieve your bladder before you fall asleep.
8. Journal.
What are your thought for the day? What are you grateful for today? Journal with intention, mindfulness, and gratitude as part of your night time routine.
9. Stretch.
Stretch those muscles and stretch those limbs before you call it a night. Perhaps try some yoga poses before checking out for the evening.
10. Read a book.
This is perhaps my personal favorite way to end the night. Snuggling up in my bed under the covers with a good book is absolutely luxurious.
11. Catch up with a friend.
A little nightcap gossip never hurt anyone. Catch up with an old friend, perhaps a family member or your significant other. Try, however, to always in the night on a positive note.
12. Practice Mindfulness.
Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique.
13. Tidy up.
Am I the only one that finds tidying up at least a little bit relaxing? I think not. I’m not saying start a Spring cleaning overhaul as part of your evening routine. But it’s certainly satisfying when you wake up the next morning in a space that’s nice, clean and tidy.
15. Meditate.
Take a few deep breaths and woosaa woman.
15. Prepare for tomorrow.
Layout your workout clothes for tomorrow. Perhaps jot down a list of things you’d like to do. End the evening productively by preparing for tomorrow.
